Here is your summer installment of meet the RHDs...read about them and their adventures before joining the Ripon College team.
"Hello friends! My name is M Dietrich, and I am SUPER EXCITED to be coming to Ripon this summer as the new RHD for Johnson Hall! I just graduated (woo!) from UW-Platteville with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
The first part of my summer was all about relaxing: catching up on reading, lots of story writing, cuddling with my puppy and little sisters, and trying some new recipes for my family. I was able to fit some travel in, too, thank goodness! I backpacked around Europe with a friend all last summer, and while I (sadly) didn't do anything nearly as extravagant this year, I did get to take my mother to Florida for six days and go with my family to New York City for a week. I really enjoy experiencing all the diversity in the places I see and people I meet when I travel. It’s also the perfect excuse to take a ridiculous number of pictures, something else I love to do.
I’ve worked in Residence Life as a student-staff member for three years, and am eager (and maybe a little nervous) to be taking a new role as an RHD. I’m looking forward to meeting all of Ripon’s RA staff during training and starting a new year at a new campus!"
"Hello everyone! My name is Nate Ebert and I hope that all of you are having an awesome, relaxing, and wonderful summer! I am so excited to meet all of you and start this new school year off right! I recently graduated from Purdue University located in West Lafayette Indiana (don’t worry if you don’t know where that is. I didn’t until I moved in). I graduated with a dual major in History and Law and Society, and I was a Resident Assistant there for three years. Being a Resident Assistant has been one of the most important and fulfilling positions I have ever held, and I am so excited that I have the chance to help you give the most to your residents, while getting the most out of your position that you can.
My hobbies include, but are certainly not limited to, playing most sports you can think of, reading, playing board games, playing magic cards, playing video games, hanging out with my friends and family, and learning about new things! My favorite outfit is easily a t-shirt and athletic shorts followed by flip flops with socks on. Why? Because comfy. I am a living breathing fashion faux pas so maybe that is something you can help me learn! My summer plans include working, getting into shape, visiting my family at every chance I can, going to various concerts with my girlfriend, and fishing whenever possible. If you haven’t gotten it yet, I am so excited to get up to Ripon and meet each and every one of you! This will be a new adventure in my life, and I can’t wait to start!"
