TAJ Welcome Back Bash=Success

Hello lovely Residence Life members!
I hope that you've all had a good start to the semester, and that you're all happily programming! Speaking of programming, I might as well take this opportunity to brag about my fan-freaking-tastic staff and the Welcome Back Bash that they put on for the TAJ the for the first weekend back! Welcome Back Bash included nails by Rebecca, crafts by Ricardo, Carmen, and Jessica, facemasks by Gillian and yours truly, and the movie Jurassic World! Though I was mildly unnerved by a guy getting his head bit off by a mutant dinosaur, I'd say it was a pretty darn successful event thanks to my awesome staff!

10 Reasons Why Ina Garten Would Make the Perfect Director of Residence Life

For those of you that don't know, Ina Garten really is the greatest visionary of our time. She will go down in history as more important than Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Angela Merkel, and maybe even Beyonce. She is the driving force behind the modern American kitchen, and there is nothing that you put in your mouth that Ina hasn't already chosen for you. She's kind of like Martha Stewart... except she hasn't gone to jail yet. She changed my life, and I want you to now invite her into your life so that she can change yours as well.

But the real reason I've brought you here today is because I think Ina Garten would make the perfect Director of Residence Life. She could really class up the department, and she'd do it on a dime! Hear me out:

1) Ina is honest.

2) Ina is sophisticated.

3) Ina sets the bar high.

4) Ina knows when to compromise.

5) Ina is tech savvy.

6) Ina wants to have fun!

7) Ina is progressive.

8) Ina is confident.

9) Ina is educated... she's the liberal arts dream come true!

So next time you're on a round and you're just not quite sure what to do, stop and ask yourself:

Northern Exposure and SAD

Hello RA friends,

I love the show Northern Exposure. It is all about this town in Cicely, Alaska and the people who live there. There is a character from Detroit, Maggie. She and I are kindred spirits. Anyway in light of training this past week I thought I would share the episode where Walt struggles with SAD and becomes addicted to his light visor that has begun to help with his symptoms.

If you want to read more about SAD and that episode click on this article. If you wanted to watch that episode it is in Season 5 and episode #17. I own that season and that episode and if you call ahead I will make a nice meal and watch it with you. It really is a great episode.
